PUTRAJAYA, Feb 3 — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) has cancelled the license of Al Quds Umrah & Tours (M) Sdn Bhd, effective January 24.

Motac’s Tourism Commissioner, Datuk Roslan Abdul Rahman, stated that the action was in line with Section 8 of the Tourism Industry Act 1992 (Act 482), according to a report published by Bernama today.

“The Ministry takes any violation of legal provisions by licensed tourism operators seriously to safeguard the welfare and interests of the people of Malaysia Madani,” he said in a statement today.

Previously, Motac had suspended the company’s license from July 9, 2024, to January 19, 2025.

The company has been involved in an umrah fraud case, and many victims are still awaiting compensation.
